Mathew has hands on experience across multiple aspects of the hemp supply chain from farming, through to processing, and wholesale and retail sales. With a keen eye for international business, Mathew understands the potential of hemp and the opportunity for New Zealand companies to work together to grow the market. Having farmed and developed multiple bespoke products for large scale domestic customers, Mathew recognises the critical quality components required to make New Zealand hemp recognisable and aligned with international export standards. Mathew brings energy and passion for rapid growth and has a clear vision for the role that hemp has in our communities across the globe.. Mathew is the Managing Director at Hemp Connect – a business founded on the principle of bringing change to systemic issues kiwis face. Originally operating as a vertically integrated company, Hemp Connect has played a key role in developing regional capability in the primary production of hemp. With primary production now in full swing, the focus has shifted to processing and innovation, with the aim to increase hemp cultivation nationwide.
